Funny Thing...
I received a "blast" email today from Perillo Tours here in New York, they're offering something called "Learning Journeys", which sounds pretty much like the sort of thing I'm focusing on with "Journeys Beyond the Ordinary", except theirs sounds like the most boring experience you could possibly have while traveling. I mean, I'm not knocking Perillo, they obviously have a formula down, they know what they're doing. But ya know, so does McDonalds.

Wow! I've spent the day uploading pictures to my Facebook page... from Kenya, Tanzania, London, Barcelona, Rome, Madrid, Toledo, Bracciano Italy...
(stops)
(takes a DEEP BREATH)
...Amalfi, Sommatino Sicilia, Firenze...
Ok, I think I'm done. But it's important to me that people see what cool, fascinating, glorious things they can see if they just get off their butts and travel!

And we're off!
My first entry in my first blog. I've been writing all my life, but not this kind of writing. A bit intimidating, yes, but fun.
So my new website is pretty much done! It's been consuming me for days, to the detriment of my real work, but I'm happy with it, and I think it's much better than my old one. If you're reading this you probably never saw my old one. Just as well. Because that was a different kind of website, for a different kind of travel.
This website reflects the kind of travel planning I hope to do more of in the future. The most interesting places, the most fascinating people, hidden ruins, ancient long-lost monuments. The kind of things you used to dream about seeing when you were a kid. Because I think that's the primary aim of this "new direction". I want to give parents here in Ridgewood, and elsewhere, the chance to teach their kids about the world, to give their teens experiences they'll reflect on for the rest of their lives.
Why spend tens of thousands of dollars on a child's education... and then waste a golden opportunity for a week on the beach? Time is too precious. I want to help parents make the most of the 18 short years they have with their child. So stay tuned!
